From about two. The writing is tuned in three bands: two to four gets very short sentences and familiar words, five to seven gets a little more room, and seven and up gets richer language again. Each story is pitched at the youngest child in the cast, and the tone stays calm at every age.

You choose five, ten or fifteen minutes a part. You set it once when you create the story, and every part of that story honours it.

Every part ends on something unresolved and names the time it picks up, tied to the bedtime you set. Something like "tomorrow at bedtime, at 7.30, the path through the silver woods will be waiting". Your child goes to sleep curious about a specific thing at a specific time, which is the whole sleep mechanic. By the next morning they are often the one asking when bedtime is.

It lands on your phone, not your child’s. Its job is to start the wind down, and it carries that night’s story hook so you have something to say out loud rather than just a nudge to open an app.

By default it fires fifteen minutes before your set bedtime, adjustable in Settings or off entirely. One notification per child if you have separate stories running. No marketing and no daily nagging.

For every part, you also get a short line you can drop into the day at breakfast or on the way home. Something like "tonight at 7.30 we find out what the Gardener wants you to do with the missing constellations". It is not a script, it is a prompt, and the point is to keep tonight’s hook alive so bedtime is something your child is heading towards rather than resisting.

Because a cloned voice is still a recording. Reading aloud at bedtime is not about audio fidelity, it is about being in the room: the small pauses you make, the way you slow down at the parts that matter, the look up when your child has a question. A clone reads from a script. You read with your child.

Most of them are players: you press play and something reads to your child. Hushero does not read anything. It writes tonight’s part, hands it to you, and you read it aloud. The story runs across nights rather than finishing at lights out, siblings share one adventure rather than having separate profiles, and the whole thing is built so your child is listening to you rather than to a device.

Nothing is taken away. Every story you already have stays readable, including the long ones made while you were subscribed, and a story you are part way through still finishes to its proper end rather than stopping mid arc. Only making new ones goes back to the free plan’s limits.

We collect your child’s first name and their age in years. Not a full date of birth, not an address, not a photo.

To write a story, the first name, the age, the world and anything you typed as a theme are sent to the model provider that generates it. That is the one place your child’s details leave our systems, and it is the only way a story can have your child in it. Nothing is sold, nothing is shared with advertisers, and there are no ads in the app at all.
